1. jungle; dense forest

   我们在丛林里迷路了。 wǒmen zài cónglín lǐ mílù le — We got lost in the jungle.

2. thicket; dense growth of bushes and small trees

   那只兔子钻进了丛林。 nà zhǐ tùzi zuānjìn le cónglín — The rabbit darted into the thicket.

3. forest (general term)

   雨季使丛林变得更加茂密。 yǔjì shǐ cónglín biàndé gèngjiā màomì — The rainy season makes the forest grow thicker.

4. Buddhist monastery (literary or historical usage)

   这座古丛林始建于唐代，仍是著名的佛教寺院。 zhè zuò gǔ cónglín shǐjiàn yú tángdài réng shì zhùmíng de fójiào sìyuàn — This ancient monastery was first built in the Tang dynasty and is still a famous Buddhist temple.
