1. and (connective, literary/formal)

   文章与评论一同发表。 wénzhāng yǔ pínglùn yītóng fābiǎo — The article and the review were published together.

2. to give (literary); to grant

   君子以信与民。 jūnzǐ yǐ xìn yǔ mín — A gentleman gives trust to the people.

3. together with; accompanied by (literary)

   与朋友同行，心情愉快。 yǔ péngyǒu tóngháng xīnqíngyúkuài — Traveling together with friends lifts the spirits.

与 — yú

1. variant of the classical interrogative particle 歟/欤 (used in classical Chinese)

   是谁之过与？ shì shuí zhīguò yǔ — Whose fault is it, then? (classical particle)

与 — yù

1. to take part in; to participate in

   他与了我们的讨论会。 tā yǔ le wǒmen de tǎolùnhuì — He took part in our discussion meeting.
