下去 — xiàqù

1. to go down; to descend (physically)

   请从楼梯下去。 qǐng cóng lóutī xiàqù — Please go down the stairs.

2. to go on; to continue (a state or action)

   这样下去，我们会迟到的。 zhèyàng xiàqù wǒmen huì chídào de — If things continue like this, we'll be late.

3. (literary/archaic) (of a servant) to withdraw; to retire

   皇上挥了挥手，让侍从都下去。 huángshàng huī le huīshǒu ràng shìcóng dōu xiàqù — The emperor waved his hand, dismissing all the attendants.
