上课 — shàngkè

1. to go to class; to attend class (as a student)

   我每天八点去上课。 wǒ měitiān bādiǎn qù shàngkè — I go to class every day at eight.

2. to attend a specific class (emphasis on participation/attendance)

   因为下雨，他今天没去上课。 yīnwèi xiàyǔ tā jīntiān méiqù shàngkè — Because of the rain, he didn't go to class today.

3. to go to teach a class; to give a lesson

   李老师下午两点要去上课。 lǐlǎoshī xiàwǔ liǎngdiǎn yào qù shàngkè — Teacher Li has to go teach a class at 2 p.m.
