一时 — yīshí

1. for a short time; for a while

   他一时忘了带钥匙。 tā yīshí wàng le dài yàoshi — He forgot to bring his keys for a moment / for a while.

2. temporary; momentary

   这只是一个一时的解决办法。 zhè zhǐshì yígè yīshí de jiějuébànfǎ — This is only a temporary solution.

3. at the same time; simultaneously (used to link simultaneous states or actions)

   听到这个消息，他一时又高兴又紧张。 tīngdào zhège xiāoxī tā yīshí yòu gāoxìng yòu jǐnzhāng — On hearing the news, he was both happy and nervous at the same time.
